“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”
Letting go of the former things is hard, past relationships things that we have lost
In our lives etc.
If we really want to walk in love we must let go of all hurts that we have endured in our past.
The bible says
1 Corinthians 13:4-5 ‘Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy,
It does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrongs.’
God wants to do a new thing in our lives, and if we hold on to past relationships and the past
in general we prohibit God from working. Let go and let God do a new thing in your life.
When we let go of the former, a gap is created in our lives if we do not look forward and
embrace what the word of God is saying – (I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland)
I really like that Isaiah use the words (Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?) Isn’t it just so true? We do not perceive this new thing in our lives because we keep holding on to the past. God says (SEE) it is there already it’s time to change your focus and look at the new.
Don’t settle for the past. Settle for the best God has in store for you. You can either let your past push you to a place which is not in Gods perfect plan for you or rely on God in order for your future to pull you towards it.
Listen me of all people know this is hard Damn it’s very hard believe me, best you let go of that rejection and see what acceptance God has in store for you.
Seven quick steps you can start today and I will definitely try some of these today.
1. Let go of the baggage.
2. Close that chapter.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
3. Quit talking about the past.
That was then and this is now.
4. Let go of the shame.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.
5. Enjoy today!
I can’t enjoy for you. You must enjoy for yourself. You can enjoy by making a conscious decision to look at the positive things in your life, as small as they may seem right now.
6. Walk by faith and not by sight.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall
Meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written
in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8
7. Believe and understand the power of forgiveness
This is a big one! If you have unforgiveness in your heart, GET RID OF IT! Do you hear me shouting?
